Q: Does any portion of the $25 cost go to any organization? A: No, the $25 one time fee is for the State of Colorado's production costs. However, if you would like to make a donation to organizations that support the breast cancer initiative, please check out the section of this web site How to Help. Q: Is there a major organization sponsoring this initiative? A: No. This is a grass roots effort started by a small group of individuals who are passionate about finding a cure for breast cancer. Q: Can I choose which design I want? A: No. The State will have the final decision on the design and the tag line on the plate. The State may use of the designs submitted, or they may ask for other modifications. We will not know until approval what the final design will be. Q: Can I personalize this plate? A: Yes. This plate can be personalized up to 7 characters. If you choose to have seven characters, the middle ribbon image will be removed. Your local DMV office may be willing to give you a cost estimate, based on their knowledge of personalized, special interest plates. Contact your local DMV office for a cost estimate, based on their knowledge of personalized, special interest plates. Q: Can I take my current plate number with me to this plate? A: Yes, but it would be considered a personalized plate, see the above question regarding the personalization process. Q: I did not submit a reservation. Can I still get the plate? A. Absolutely! Just go to your local DMV office on or after 7/1/06 and ask for it. The only use of the reservations is that it gives the DMV an idea of how many people might be interested in the plate for production volume guidelines. Q: Will I be notified by my local DMV when the plates are ready? A. No. The DMV only used the numbers of plates requested and was not provided with any personal information. You DO NOT need to have a reservation to get the plate. Just request it at your local DMV office any time on or after 7/1/06. Q: How else can I help? A: 1. Contact your local legislator and THANK THEM for their support in approving the license plate. If you do not know who your local legislators are, click here. To locate the representatives in your home district. 2. Send a link for this web site to everyone you know! 3. Make a donation to any one of the number of wonderful organizations that support breast cancer awareness and research. We have links for some of them on our web site, and encourage you to support the organization of your choice. Did we answer your question? If not email us. |
