Purpose
To promote the performing arts center through a professional online
presence and enable users to select ticket packages and submit requests
for tickets. In addition to promoting the musicals, the site needed
to be able to effectively promote the art gallery and its monthly
shows. This second generation site was developed in a way that the
site could grow to support e-commerce ticket sales and season packages
online.
Approach
Create the feeling of a high quality theatrical experience. The
theatre in reality is an intimate venue with seating up to the stage.
The web site allows the theatre to use a metaphor to its benefit
and possibly attract an audience that may not have experienced such
an intimate venue. Playing up the personality of the theatre has
been extremely successful in generating interest from an audience
that may not have known much about Town Hall Arts Center.
Features
Through a classy opening night flash introduction, theatre style
page layout, actual show images and simple navigation, the theater
comes alive online.
